About SeatGEN

In January 2023, the Law School implemented seatGEN 3.0, which integrates with both Bruin Learn and MyLaw. SeatGEN is a tool that can be used to build and print seating charts, as well as, print class rosters, flash cards or tent cards for all students enrolled in a particular course. It can also be used for taking attendance and recording class participation.

Navigation Tips

When navigating through seatGEN, be sure to use the navigation points within the interface rather than your browser back button or you may end up at your seatGEN "home" page.

For example, use the highlighted navigation points:

Download an excel spreadsheet of student profiles

The download icon will download an Excel spreadsheet that includes student names, profile information and email addresses.

Seating Chart Settings

Under "Seating Settings," you have two options:

  1. Allowing students to see their seating chart location (after the chart has been set up by your faculty assistant). You can set a specific time for it to start showing.
  2. Allowing students to self-seat for a particular time period.
