Compliance and Announcements

The UC Winter Holiday Closure period will begin on Saturday, December 18, 2021, through Sunday, January 2, 2022, with plans to reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022, subject to limited COVID-19 operational conditions. This period includes four University paid holidays (December 23, 24, 30, and 31). This year, six days (December 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29) are not paid holidays. Staff employees and those academic employees who accrue vacation leave may use either vacation, compensatory time (if available), or leave without pay for these six work days. Please email HR@law.ucla.edu should you have any questions.

President Drake approved another extension of the temporary exception to PPSM-2.210 (Absence from Work), which allows policy-covered staff employees additional time to take vacation leave in order to bring their accrual balances below the maximum. The exception deadline has been extended to June 30, 2022. During the exception period, employees whose balances exceed the maximum will continue to accrue vacation leave.

Departments are encouraged to work with employees to bring their balances below the maximum by the exception deadline.  Effective July 1, 2022, employees whose balances exceed the maximum will no longer accrue additional vacation hours until their balances are reduced below the maximum.

UCLA requires all Staff, Faculty, and Students to complete a daily symptom monitoring survey whenever they are on campus. The link to the platform is https://uclasurveys.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3qRLtouCYKzBbH7.

In addition, for the safety and well-being of the university community, the University of California requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before physically accessing the University’s Locations and Programs. This requirement is subject to limited deferrals, exceptions, accommodations based on medical condition, disability or religious belief, and associated non-pharmaceutical interventions.
