The CA Bar provides exam statistics, including passage rates for first-time takers, for repeat takers, and by law school type. Results for the July Bar Exam will be mailed in mid-November. On the day that results are mailed, they will also be available on the State Bar's website. You can see your admission status by visiting the Exam Results Information page.
Students who pass the Bar Exam are generally permitted to take the Attorney Oath on or after the date on which the exam results are made available. You may take the oath before a judge, justice, or clerk of a court of record, State Bar Board of Governors member, notary public, the American Consul (if in a foreign country), or various other individuals who are authorized to administer oaths. The UCLA School of Law hosts a California Bar Swearing-In Ceremony sponsored by the Alumni Association in early December for its graduates who pass the July bar examination.
NOTE: You will not be admitted to practice until you have taken the attorney oath. Following the oath, you must submit a registration card to the State Bar in order to process your enrollment.
