First African Methodist Episcopal Church – FAME’s Free Legal Clinic
A collaboration between First AME Church, Temple Isaiah, Public Counsel, and the UCLA School of Law; provides free legal services, referrals to government agencies, mediation services, and referrals to other fee and non-fee legal service providers. *NOTE: the FAME legal clinic does NOT represent clients. Staff of volunteer attorneys, paralegals and law students provides services in the following areas: bankruptcy, child custody, civil, expunging criminal records, divorce, employment, landlord & tenant disputes, personal injury, probate, real estate and social security.
HOURS: 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; no appointment necessary; first come, first served.
Dates: 2 Sundays each month (see website for specific dates)

Federal Pro Se Clinic (Public Counsel)
The Federal Pro Se Clinic in Los Angeles (“Clinic”) offers on-site information and guidance to individuals who are representing themselves (proceeding pro se) in federal civil actions. The Clinic is administered by a non-profit law firm, Public Counsel, not by the Court.
The Clinic is located in:

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

General Self-Help Legal Access Centers / Courthouse Clinics:

Operated by LAFLA, L.A. County, L.A. Superior Court & Neighborhood Legal Services. “The Centers are walk-in clinics that offer individuals who are representing themselves legal information, assistance in preparing legal forms, guidance on a variety of civil matters, including evictions, divorces and paternity actions, and civil harassment. Referrals to private attorneys or other legal services programs are provided.”
